Animatic of opening scene for POP! uploaded

Posted March 27th, 2007 in Uncategorized

Here is the opening scene animatic for POP!. I scanned in the storyboard pics and then used after effects for some simple camera pans and animated movement. These were then brought into Premier where I added transitions and the sound fx. Most effects I downloaded for free off the net plus I recorded some scratch guitar music and some additional dialogue.

Its a bit rough & ready but it I think it sets the tone, establishes the balloon world and introduces the antagonism between the red & blue.

See what you think and comment if you like.

Cheers

Neil

I’m interested to see how you develop the scenery visually, with the different colors and how complex you decide to be. I’m looking forward to hearing more news about your animation.

Yes Joe, The scenery will probably be a lot more complex than in the animatic. Since I will be working with basic forms (mainly balloon ovals) the rendering time (i.e. number of polygons) should not be too great and I can easily duplicate a lot of trees etc fairly easily.
The final look of the film has yet to be bedded down as I am concentrating on the story and shot composition right now. thanks for your interest
